There is a lot to be done.
We can't afford the reckoning of the time we have, or the energy, waste time running scenarios and assessing potential outcomes. Willingness is about action. It is not a feeling, a longing, or a promise, neither is it knowing, a projection, a set - and stubborn- plan.
It is a readiness to set ourselves in motion with the kind of enthusiasm we only can muster if we trust that trying is how we succeed. Then doing something, in any order, however mundane or low on the priority list, is better than bullying our self into tackling the north face in vain.
No one says it will be easy, painless, and that we won’t get it tragically wrong at times. But as we leave aside what we think we know, we plug into the realm of experience. Here, what we know, we know first hand, and we, our life, and the world, are real.
The necessity of change turns into courage, readiness to let go of old ways and attend to what truly matters.
It takes a great deal of acceptance of our fate to get on the right track, but once we do, we find our people, those who can guide and support us down a brave new path.
Nothing changes by wishful thinking. Starting -anything really- is how we set things in motion. We're not ready until we’re out the door in gear, and when we are, there is no need to tell.
Announcing readiness is merely an attempt at making the world accountable for pulling us in, responsible for keeping us accountable. It's a promise we don't know we can keep, maybe even are likely to break.
There is no amount of focus, effort, and action that will take us to mastery in a day.
Willingness to change, achieve, participate are not a once off endeavour, that are a progress driven one. We are the sum of our experiences, everything we have lived through, overcome, stumbled on, is our trajectory, another stone to the construct of our life.
When we integrate an experience, we can move on to the next one. This is how we build up.
The people that inspire awe are guides, they show us what to do. Being inspired means following their example, their footsteps. It is about doing what they do, nurturing the quality they have, growing into their shoes.
Singing their praises, their name, mimicking their gestures and tone, add up to a farce whereby we are the fool.
Instead, seeing their trajectory, asking the questions they ask themselves, making the effort and sacrifices they make is how we will get the result they get.
Energy propagates inside and out. When we embrace the life forces at play, we feel them expand and grow, not only within ourselves but in our relationship to others.
The current binds us to those others who want to play along, who want to see those things happen that we are dreaming too.
And through that bond, that flow, anything can be born, This energy is the fabric of creation, all we need is to let it flow.
The wealth of experience in others we may have heard of, but somehow, we resist relying on it.
We are a little bit right: Nothing replaces first hand experience. So we do need to walk our own steps and learn our own lessons.
But we will never be good judges of ourselves. We can never see the outside from the inside, and we definitely can use some help making sense of our hard-earned experience.
Willingness to take action does not stop at we we understand, accept or make sense of.
At times - at crucial times -, the magic is on the other side of a leap, through the dark, when all seems wrong, when the plan goes out the window and all we can do is improvise without any reckoning.
Our saving grace is the will to keep moving. Of all the rest, we don’t know what will still be true tomorrow.
